- Choose Draw 1 (easier) or Draw 3 (classic) and press New game.
- Drag a card — or simply tap it — to move it. Tapping sends a card to the foundation if possible, otherwise to the best tableau column.
- Build the seven tableau columns down in alternating colors (red on black). Move whole face-up runs at once.
- Tap the stock to turn cards onto the waste pile. When the stock is empty, tap it again to recycle the waste.
- Build each foundation up by suit from Ace to King. When every card is face up, press Auto-finish.
Rules
- Standard 52-card deck dealt into seven columns of 1 to 7 cards, top card face up.
- Only a King (or a run starting with a King) may be placed in an empty column.
- Cards on the foundations may be moved back to the tableau if the move is legal.
- Unlimited passes through the stock and unlimited Undo.
Can every game be won?
No. Most Draw 1 deals are winnable with perfect play, but some are not, and Draw 3 is noticeably harder. Klondike is a game of skill and luck — nothing is wagered.
Strategy tips
- Prioritize moves that turn over face-down cards, especially in the longest columns.
- Don't empty a column unless you have a King ready to fill it.
- Don't rush cards to the foundations if you still need them to hold lower cards of the opposite color.
- Use Undo to explore — it's free.
FAQ
- Is Klondike Solitaire free?
- Yes — free in your browser with no download, sign-up, or ads.
- What's the difference between Draw 1 and Draw 3?
- Draw 1 turns one card at a time from the stock. Draw 3 turns three, and only the top one is playable, which makes the game harder.
- Can I play on my phone?
- Yes. Drag cards with your finger or tap a card to move it automatically. Use Full screen for the biggest cards.
- Who made this game?
